The 2020 edition of the International Mobility Program (PROMOBI) is suspended indefinitely due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Below we give information about the measures taken and the procedure to be adopted from now on.

We would like to inform the academic community of UFPB and our national and international partners about the measures taken by UFPB Higher Administration in relation to the spread of the coronavirus in Brazil.

These measures will affect the offers for exchange students, either in the INCOMING modality or in the OUTGOING modality, as a way to guarantee and preserve the health safety of the academic community, namely:

1. The “temporary suspension” of the selection process of the International Mobility Program - PROMOBI - edition 2020 (OUTGOING). UFPB also advises the international academic community and partners to avoid, when possible, the departure of students, teachers, administrative staff and researchers to countries considered at risk for participation in any type of academic mobility or international events, etc., until the public health situation is under control.

2. For students who have already started their mobility period abroad:

In the event that the partner University leads them towards ending their mobility earlier than planned, we ask students to advise the coordination of their program that they should analyze together with the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, a way to reduce the academic loss of these students.

3. For students who have not yet started their mobility period:

For departures during the 1st semester of the European academic year (SEP-20 - JAN or FEB-21), efforts will be made to maintain contact with foreign partner Universities participating in International Mobility Programs with UFPB in order to proceed with the rescheduling of the mobility flows planned in our agreements, in particular, the possibility of renegotiating the appointment schedule for each foreign partner institution.

Until a desirable safety level is reached and activities are normalized, newsletters will be issued on the page of UFPB Agency for International Cooperation - ACI (www.ufpb.br/aci), on Instagram (http://instagram.com/aci.ufpb) and on Facebook (http://facebook.com/ufpb.aci).

At Federal University of Paraíba, so far, no suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 has been identified and our state is not considered a risk area, according to government and health authorities.

The Rector of our University decided to create a Commission to Confront the new Coronavirus at UFPB (COVID-19) that will be closely and constantly monitoring the situation.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
